Immigration Without Assimilation Is Cultural Suicide

These days, Democrats and Catholic bishops (sorry, do I repeat myself?) want us to forget “Catholic Joe” Biden.

I don’t blame them. He gave them billions of our money while wreaking havoc on communities throughout America.

But we should pray, at least, that they don’t blame us for cleaning up after him. His disasters inflicted untold damage. Unfortunately, that was his intention. The wreckage was designed to be as destructive as possible.

In spite of our best efforts, we’ve already seen that some of the devastation is beyond repair. The stalwart soul willing to confront it might be tempted simply to sigh just sigh and say, “it’s enough to make you throw up your hands” – or, as Pat Buchanan once put it, “just to throw up.”

Let’s face it. During the Biden years, foreigners numbering in the tens of millions crossed the U.S. border without any check of identity, nationality, marriage or family status, health, or criminal history. And now that they are here, the same religious and political leaders that want us to forget Joe Biden want us to ignore his illegal aliens as well.

Three years ago, New York Senator Chuck Schumer was blunt when he spoke to reporters outside the U.S. Capitol:

“Now more than ever, we’re short of workers,” he said. “We have a population that is not reproducing on its own, with the same level that it used to. The only way we’re going to have a great future in America is if we welcome and embrace immigrants, the ‘Dreamers’ — and all of them, because our ultimate goal is to help the Dreamers but [also] get a path to citizenship for all 11 million or however many undocumented there are here.”

A year later, New York’s Cardinal Dolan said that the immigrants will fill the pews that are empty, he implies, because nobody’s having babies.

“It is good for us as a country and a church to welcome the immigrants,” Dolan said. “We’re at our best, it calls forth what is most noble within us, and it helps our nation and it helps our Church…. In the ‘northeastern quadrant’ of American Catholicism, the Catholic population is diminishing—[but] not in New York. Why? Well, I wish I could say it was because it’s converts. I wish I could say because it’s birth(s). Uh-Uh! It’s because of the immigrants. So the immigrants make our church strong. The immigrant makes New York City strong, the immigrant makes our country strong.”

Neither Cardinal Dolan nor Senator Schumer mentions that abortion has killed some 60 million unborn American babies – a fact that Schumer applauds and Dolan condemns; but they both draw the same conclusion: We need the immigrants.

All of them.

Lessons From Europe

The lesson has been learned repeatedly, and quickly forgotten.

In recent years, countries like Germany, Sweden, France, and the United Kingdom have confronted crimes of sexual assault of young girls by immigrants from the Third World, many of them from Islamic countries.

Media are reluctant to report on the problem because, in every case, they helped cause the problem. Governments, led by Germany’s Angela Merkel, opened the floodgates ten years ago, and today they continue to ignore the results.

In the affected countries in the European Union, officials often berate those who report the crimes more strenuously than they pursue the criminals. In fact, governments often go further, arresting citizens who complain about the crimes, or even about immigration in general. If an individual finds a comment to be “offensive,” the “offender” must pay a fine; if he becomes belligerent and refuses to recant, he goes to jail.

Culture Matters

In many Islamic countries, women are often required to be veiled, or cover their hair, or even wear a Burqa (full body covering) in public. Tradition teaches men to admire such practices as proper expressions of modesty – and society also punishes them – big time – if they dare to violate that modesty.

In fact, the man who violates these traditions faces immediate and severe punishment. In many Third-World countries, sexual crimes are immediately punished by death. The worldwide web is full of videos of sexual assailants being stoned by a crowd of men, with women looking on; of being thrown off tall buildings; of being decapitated; and often worse, when the families of the victims get into the act.

But those violent, primitive cultures don’t “cure” the criminal psychosis of so many in their male population – they just punish it if it goes beyond the permitted norms.

When the West confronts these traditions, confusion often results. During Bush’s war in Afghanistan, American soldiers were sometimes sexually assaulted by Afghan soldiers or civilian employees. Apparently, the Pashtun tradition embraces a practice called “Bacha Bazi,” where boys are dressed as girls to perform for admiring men. Often, an Afghan male might have “his boy,” to enjoy as he will, sometimes for years. After all, when the boy grows up, he will have a “boy of his own” as well.

The practice extends much further than the Pashtun tribes. In fact, it is centuries old.

But that didn’t matter to Woke U.S. military authorities. Many of our servicemen were from 17 to 22 years of age. To Afghans on the prowl, they were handsome boys and prime targets for their sexual assaults. However, when servicemen resisted sexual assaults forcefully, the American went to the brig, while the assailant went free.

“It’s their culture, we can’t interfere, and we certainly can’t judge them,” they were told.

Imagine today the newly-arrived immigrant in western countries like Sweden, England, Germany, and the United States.

All of these countries refuse even to attempt to assimilate these men ((indeed, most of them are male). They make no effort to cure the sexual psychosis (“men are for sex, women are for babies”), but they don’t punish its practitioners either.

Imagine what effect that has on the incoming criminal psychotic who finds no resistance, only beautiful potential female European victims?

Moreover, according to his cultural tradition, the male finds virtually all western women to be in a state of undress – where is the veil? The scarf? The Burqa?

Clearly, such immoral women deserve punishment. They would sure be punished back home, big time!

So they attack. After all, for centuries their tradition has not attempted to cure their lust, merely to punish it.

Where Is The Church?

During the Francis years, our Catholic bishops encouraged us to “welcome the stranger,” to be “inclusive.” “All are welcome,” the parish websites read.

Well, if our own sexual deviants aren’t worth teaching the hard truths of the Faith, why should we bother attempting to assimilate the foreign ones?

So we haven’t. And because Europe hasn’t done it either, they’re paying the price.

Will America be exempt from the consequences of our complacency?
